Inositol
Inositol is a carbohydrate, but not a sugar. It is produced in the body from glucose. Its primary function is to aid in cell signaling and the construction of messenger molecules. It can often be used as a chemically stable alternative to nitroglycerin. Inositol has been shown to reduce the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder with effectiveness near the same level as SSRIs, without the negative side effects.
